So your boss approaches you and says, \u201cThat SharePoint site you created for our dept., is great! Can you duplicate the site for all our depts.\u201d?<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>At that point you hit the palm of your hand on your forehead and say to yourself, \u201cnow if I could only remember how I did all that, and I wish I would have taken notes\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Take a deep breath and read on\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Creating a SharePoint Site Template<\/span><\/h1>\n

Navigate to the site that you want to save as a template<\/span><\/p>\n

In the upper right click on the wheel, select Site Settings<\/span><\/p>\n

Under Site Actions Select Save site as template:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ST2\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Give it a File name \/ Template name \/ Template description<\/span><\/p>\n

Select include content only if you want to include the content of the site that is being saved, click ok<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Wait for processing to complete:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The following will appear if completed successfully<\/span><\/p>\n

This next part is how to create a site from the template<\/span><\/h1>\n

Navigate to the main SharePoint site ie\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

https:\/\/site.sharepoint.com<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

In the upper right click on the wheel and then Site Settings<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ST1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Under Site Administration Click on Sites and Workspaces \"ST8\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Select create<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ST9\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Give the site a Title and description.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enter a name for the <\/span>URL<\/span><\/b> (no spaces please) ie.. TestSite should not be Test Site<\/span><\/p>\n

Select the Custom tab, custom Template<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ST10\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"ST11\"<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Select Unique Permissions<\/span><\/p>\n

\"ST12\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Select yes for Navigation and Navigation Inheritance, click Create<\/span><\/p>\n

The following message appears:<\/span><\/p>\n
