And insights need to change behavior. The flow is in this direction: data builds signals, the signals then turn into insights, the insights trigger actions, which bring business outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>What makes an organization insight driven:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"1\">\n<li value=\"1\">Strategic investments in technology\n<ul type=\"a\">\n<li value=\"1\">Data, signals and insights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Collection and implementation\n<ul type=\"a\">\n<li value=\"1\">Cross functional insight teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Operating model\n<ul type=\"a\">\n<li value=\"1\">Insights come first before action<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Actionable<\/li>\n<li>Continuous learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Amir from Microsoft mentioned that everywhere within the organization they are finding 95% of MS employees use BI daily. Power BI is used as often as PowerPoint in meetings these days.<\/p>\n<h2>Some Power Platform Specific Points<\/h2>\n<p>Good BI provides a Semantic Model of the business &#8211; insight that uses the company&#8217;s jargon.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.turtle.works\/powerapps.php\">Power Platform<\/a> has 3 components that interact with each other:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"1\">\n<li value=\"1\">Analyze &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/powerbi.microsoft.com\/\">Power BI<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Act &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/\">PowerApps<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Automate &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com\/en-us\/\">Flow (Power Automate)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Power BI now allows the embedding of PowerApps within reports allowing for what if scenarios to be easily interactive. Analyze the date, modify predictions and forecasts and see how the analysis changes immediately. Flow (Power Automate) allows for the automation of Power BI and PowerApps to be updated by external events.<\/p>\n<p>They introduced to me the idea of Augmented BI<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Machine Learning for data modeling and preparation<\/li>\n<li>Natural language queries and generation<\/li>\n<li>Addressing Knowledge Gaps automatically with ML<\/li>\n<li>Unstructured data &#8211; ML can extract insights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Investing in AI and Machine Learning (ML) regarding BI is profitable.<\/p>\n<p>There is a new <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-bi\/visuals\/power-bi-visualization-decomposition-tree\">Decomposition Tree<\/a> preview feature in Power BI allowing AI to guide your drill down decisions.
